THUMBNAIL VISUALS/ GRID LAYOUTS

Here are the thumbnail sketches/grid layouts I have created so far for my short story/article, I have used small drawings and different layout of text to create these visuals all in one. I found this to be a better method because it meant that I could see first hand what my news paper article would actually look like. 

 I made 6 Thumbnail/Grid layouts in total because I felt that this gave me plenty of layout options and thumbnail sketches in general to push forward I am happy with the quality and the army of different visual layout I feel that I have plenty of different options to go with.

SHORT STORY: (character profiles)

This is the character profile of Susan the weirdest character in my story, we never really see her in the story or speak to her. All we know is she is a detective who lives in London. She is the sister of John who always has had praise from their Parents, this feeling of not knowing makes her a very mysterious character. She isn't mentioned much apart from in the beginning where she is described as being "Obsessive" by John. 

John is none the wiser of her suspicious actions, however I know that she is not to be taken lightly and there is much more to her than John and other people think. 

SHORT STORY: (character profiles)

This is the Character Profile of Zulu the ginger tabby cat that John has to look after while Susan is "away" I have added basic information about Zulu like her age and gender. 

Zulu is one of the most important characters from the very start and the story seems to revolve around her, she is always involved in some way to whatever is going on in the story. 

I have used images that I found best described her, the dark picture of the ginger tabby on the right is how I would picture her looking, the dark part of the face makes her look dark and mysterious which relates to the story as a whole. 

I have also added the Eyenimal and the collar which are two main features that are attached to Zulu. 

SHORT STORY: (character profile)

This is a basic character profile I have created for the main Character in my Short story, John.
I have included where he is from how old he is and his work information, I have also added a picture of what I would expect him to look like.
I pictures John as a young Nerdy 24 year old with curly hair who looks quite shy because of his unsocial lifestyle. 

SHORT STORY: STORYBOARDING

I have made another moodboard for my short story because I wasn't happy with the one I created on paper. Plus in this one I have created more of a link between the images and the actual story itself. In this mood board we can see that I have used important features from the story and gave clues to what the story is about. I have set the images out in such a way to tell different sections of the story. and the different squares of images hold other images which link with the image behind. This has made the mood-board more relevant to what I am trying to say and gives a better understanding of my story as a whole.

I have used things like the setting, plot and storyline all in one moodpboard and I believe it has made my story easier to understand.
